Giardini Naxos is the nearest port to Taormina, about 20 minutes away from Taormina.

Messina Port is one of the most important port of the Mediterranean Sea.
Messina is a bustling city on the North-East corner of Sicily, perched on the Strait of Messina, that narrow bit of sea separating Sicily from mainland Italy.
The port has seen a significant growth in traffic in the 21st century, and is now one of the largest and most important in the Mediterranean for cruise ships, growing from 405,000 passengers in 2009 to 610.000 in 2019.
